SCOUTING REPORT | Cuba's I-29 bandits, losing a low-ball offer, ultra-processed poisoning
A weekly digest of interesting local, state, national and even international developments
Two Cuban nationals accused of pilfering credit card numbers and committing thefts at Walmarts along the Interstate 29 corridor each face 66 charges of forgery. The thefts occurred at stores in Sioux Falls, Brookings and Sioux City, Iowa, reports The Watertown Current.
The Interstate 29 bandits were arrested south of Codington County on Oct. 29 after police spotted a vehicle associated with the alleged thefts. A search of the vehicle turned up more than 300 credit cards, 11 credit card skimmers – devices installed on credit card readers to steal financial information. Notably, the skimmers were numbered, but number 4 was missing, an indication that it might still be loose in the wild.
