RAPID CITY – Western Dakota Regional Water System (WDRWS) will be launching a public facing campaign in January to bring awareness to water availability in Western South Dakota’s future.
WDRWS has spent the last five years defining the looming problem, studying solutions, and engaging local, state, and federal officials as part of the development of a multi-billion dollar water pipeline project.
The solution to West River’s impending water shortage is anything but simple – construct a 165 mile long, $4.5 billion, 72-inch, pipeline from the Oahe Dam to West River.
