Lincoln County commissioners spent Tuesday morning scaling back proposed employee raises and perks as public scrutiny around government spending continues to heighten in South Dakota.
At their first December meeting, the board rejected a request to give county workers extra holiday time off and opted for smaller raises in 2025 than staff had recommended — early signals of cost-cutting as the county watches its tax margins.
