Dusty Johnson: Pressure to end shutdown mounts with time, pain

More than two weeks into a federal government shutdown with no end in sight, South Dakota’s lone congressman on Capitol Hill says the standoff’s hurt to Americans is only beginning to reveal itself.

But as hardships mount for federal workers, military personnel and their families, pressure also grows for elected officials in Washington, D.C., resisting even a temporary budget bill to keep the government running, U.S. Rep. Dusty Johnson said in an interview with The Dakota Scout Tuesday.
