After listening to the Mayor’s State of the City, I walked away feeling genuinely optimistic about the future of Sioux Falls — but also reflecting more critically on what lies ahead. What stood out most was the report that Sioux Falls is experiencing its lowest violent and property crime rates in nearly a decade, even amid continued population growth. That is both impressive and reassuring, and it reflects the dedication of the public servants who help keep our community safe.
