Eugene A. Anderson, 94, passed away Oct. 17, 2026, at his Sioux Falls apartment. His family of five did a lot of traveling with a camping trailer and visited most of the United States. Gene was involved with many organizations, always tinkered in his workshop, loved a good joke, and is known for his gag gifts that he gave friends and family for many years.
Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam, in 2017, an infant daughter, Donna, and his son Michael. He leaves to mourn: His son, David Anderson, and son-in-law, Jon Colburn, of Pittsburgh; daughter, Elaine Rieck, and her husband, Mike, of Harrisburg; grandsons, Eric Anderson of Sioux Falls, Matthew Rieck of Sioux Falls and Patrick Rieck of Mitchell; and many other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be 4-7 p.m., and we will share memories at 6 p.m., on Nov. 9, 2026, at Anderson-Jones-Corcoran Harrisburg Chapel, 110 E. Willow St. in Harrisburg. Details of his life can be found at https://harrisburgchapel.com.
