South Dakota governor, attorney general want to help with ICE enforcement
Rhoden offers Highway Patrol troopers, Jackley DCI agents

South Dakota state law enforcement officers will take a more active role in helping federal agents deal with illegal immigrants, following separate announcements made by Gov. Larry Rhoden and Attorney General Marty Jackley.
Rhoden sent a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Acting Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Todd Lyons outlining his desire to see Highway Patrol troopers participate in a federal program that allows local law enforcement to assist ICE in immigration enforcement.
