A public park attraction in northern downtown Sioux Falls has earned a nod from a global collective of urban planners.

The International Downtown Association (IDA) has recognized DTSF, Inc. with the Downtown Achievement Pinnacle Award for its work and initiatives related to Jacobson Plaza and its region-pacing inclusive playground, the city’s first outdoor ice ribbon and the city's largest splash pad, now replacing what was a neglected brownfield.

“This recognition reflects the power of partnership and what can be achieved when the public and private sectors come together around a shared vision for a stronger, more vibrant downtown,” said Brandon Hanson, CEO of DTSF, Inc. in a release Wednesday.
