Marty Jackley opens new malfeasance case following changes to state law
A Spearfish woman who worked for the South Dakota Department of Social Services has been indicted on charges of falsifying investigative reports, Attorney General Marty Jackley announced Wednesday.
Nova Collins, 56, was indicted Oct. 15 by a Lawrence County grand jury on four felony counts and one misdemeanor count related to falsifying investigative reports into a child abuse allegation while employed by the state’s Child Protective Services.
Collins faces one felony count of forgery and one felony count of offering forged or fraudulent evidence, each carrying a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
