A committee that is raising money to build a new playground in Canistota is hoping to make a dent in the fundraising through a gun bingo and raffle on Oct. 3.
A $100 buy-in includes dinner and 10 games of bingo. A firearm will be the prize for each of the bingo games, and there will be a grand prize for an 11th blackout game.
The playground in question is more than 30 years old and is in need of updating, according to committee sponsors. Earlier this summer, they held donkey races as a fundraiser, an event that provided onlookers and participants with much levity, as the donkeys weren’t enthusiastic participants.
