Thune-backed bill sets aside $50B for hospitals bracing for Medicaid changes
South Dakota hospitals could see a share of $50 billion the federal government will distribute over the next five years.
And leaders in a state home to two regional juggernauts in the world of health care are crafting a plan to make sure they do.
“This is real money for South Dakota hospitals,” said Tim Rave, the executive director of the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations, which represents hospital systems, long-term care facilities and other health care operations in the state that stand to benefit from federal dollars carved out for the industry in a congressional rescission measure dubbed the “One Big Beautiful Bill.”
