WINNER — Fresh off her sixth legislative session as governor, Gov. Kristi Noem attended two separate town halls in Mitchell and Winner Wednesday, a concerted effort to do constituent outreach after a smooth session for the governor.

But Noem could hardly finish her introductory remarks about her legislative victories and the state’s balanced budget before constituents rushed to ask her about potentially becoming former President Trump’s running mate in his 2024 run for the White House.

At her first town hall in the Mitchell High School library, the charge was led by a junior attending school there.
