Banner Engineering Corporation has halted its plans to close its manufacturing plant in Aberdeen.

Evan Burgstaler, executive vice president of operations, announced the change in a news release issued Friday, Nov. 15.

“This decision was made due to recent changes in the business and geopolitical climates so that Banner is well-positioned to provide ongoing world-class support to the global industrial automation market,” the news release reads.

Currently at 111 employees, Burgstaler told The Aberdeen Insider that the Aberdeen manufacturing plant will likely continue at that size moving forward.

Burgstaler said Banner has seen a strengthening in North American sales, and Aberdeen’s manufacturing facility can help meet that demand.
