An organization that represents musicians and more than a dozen music publishers are accusing a West River broadcaster of playing songs that it didn’t have a license to play.

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers – or ASCAP – joined the publishers in a lawsuit against Haugo Broadcasting and owner Christian Haugo. The lawsuit was filed in federal district court in South Dakota.

The music group includes prominent entertainers, including publishers of Katy Perry, Breaking Benjamin, Tracy Chapman, Blondie, Pink and others.
