Thune, Johnson want answers in Biden probe
More questions after whistleblower testimony, document release
South Dakota Sen. John Thune and Rep. Dusty Johnson are calling for more information into an ongoing corruption probe involving President Joe Biden’s family.
This follows the testimony of two IRS investigative agents, Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler, who testified at the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability on July 19 that the Department of Justice gave preferential treatment to Biden’s son, Hunter, during a tax evasion probe. Shapley and Ziegler testified that DOJ officials hampered their investigation into Hunter Biden, and they allege they were not allowed to pursue leads into a wider corruption scandal.
Both Shapley and Ziegler have sought protection as federal whistleblowers.
