U.S. Senate candidate Brian Bengs confronted a protester in Washington, D.C. Thursday while defending a fellow independent who’s running on the other side of South Dakota’s southern state line.
Bengs was speaking to reporters at a bank of microphones outside the Capitol when a man started shouting that Dan Osborn, an independent Senate candidate in Nebraska, was a “liar.” Bengs told reporters that he planned to caucus with Osborn rather than with Democrats or Republicans. That’s when a man in a baseball cap started yelling.
“You're lying. Dan, you're a Democrat,” the man said.
