South Dakota High Court deals Kevin Costner another defeat in Black Hills statue dispute
Actor had planned to use artist's bronze statues at Deadwood casino that was never built
The South Dakota Supreme Court has driven a stake into the heart of a long-running legal feud between actor Kevin Costner and a South Dakota artist he commissioned more than three decades ago.
The Court issued an order Jan. 27 refusing a rehearing in the dispute between Costner and artist Peggy Detmers, finding that there had been “no issue or question of law or fact appearing to have been overlooked or misapprehended.” It was the fourth decision the Court had rendered in the dispute, although this one did not include an opinion, just an order.
