Sioux Falls municipal voters have choices.

A Sioux Falls educator who helped the city adopt and embrace its community flag will make another run at Carnegie Town Hall after narrowly falling short in a runoff election for the same Sioux Falls City Council seat nearly a decade ago.

Zach DeBoer announced his ambitions for the council’s Central District seat in the 2026 Sioux Falls municipal election, joining a crowded field of candidates already declared for that contest, and nearly a dozen more with their eye on public office in three other city council races underway.
