Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken is calling for greater public pressure on state lawmakers after a proposal aimed at reducing prison recidivism in South Dakota fell short in the House this week.
House Bill 1086, which would have provided about $2.7 million over five years for leadership training programs for inmates and Department of Corrections staff.
