About half of Sioux Falls public school graduates are going to college.
That’s according to newly released data that shows 53 percent of Sioux Falls public school graduates enrolled in an institution of higher learning after earning a high school diploma from the Sioux Falls School District in 2025, a mark that falls short of a national benchmark.
Citing the National Student Clearinghouse’s 2026 High School Benchmarks appendix, Assistant Superintendent for Academic Achievement Kirk Zeeck informed Sioux Falls Board of Education members about the district’s numbers Monday. Nationwide, 58.8 percent of roughly 2.3 million 2025 graduates at participating public, noncharter schools enrolled in an institution of higher learning the fall following their graduations.
