Sioux Falls residents will get their first opportunity Thursday to learn about plans for The Quarry at The Falls and help shape the future of the site during a free, family-friendly community event.
“Dream Big at The Quarry” marks the beginning of public engagement for the project, which is supported by a $15 million grant from the Bezos Earth Fund’s Greening America’s Cities initiative to the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation. Community input will help guide the design and development of the site.
Sioux Falls Mayor Christine Erickson, Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation President and CEO Andy Patterson and a representative from the Bezos Earth Fund are scheduled to speak about the project and its vision for the future.
The event also will feature activities for all ages, project information and opportunities for community members to provide input on the project’s future design.
The event will run from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, with speaker remarks scheduled for 5:15 p.m. It will be held at the future site of The Quarry at The Falls, 1110 N. Weber Ave.
Parking will be available in the designated lot north of the event, accessible from East Falls Park Drive and North Weber Avenue.
