Julie Ward, the vice president of administrative services for Avera Health, addressed reporters Wednesday. Public Health Director Joe Kippley and Andy Munce, CEO of Sanford Health Sioux Falls region, also addressed reporters about the city’s community health assessment.
The city of Sioux Falls has launched another community health assessment, partnering with Avera and Sanford health systems to get a picture of the city’s health care needs.
The surveys take place every three years, and they are required by the federal government to be completed by nonprofit hospitals and certain health agencies. The two regional health systems work with the city to develop the assessment.
