The Sioux Falls Singing Legionnaires successfully defended their title and for the third straight year won the American Legion’s national singing competition, according to the Oct. 15, 1951, edition of the Argus Leader.
In the nearly three decades that followed, the Sioux Falls veterans went on to win more vocal competitions than any other Legion post in the nation.
