Maybe you’ve noticed an uptick in wasps buzzing around while you’re sitting outside sipping on your favorite adult or non-adult beverage. Well, ’tis the season. Wasps are plentiful in the late summer and fall.

But before you wage war on the wasps, heed the advice of Amanda Bachmann.

Wait them out.

Bachmann is an urban entomology field specialist with South Dakota State Extension. And for this lesson, she is our Sun Tzu, the military strategist who wrote the classic book “The Art of War,” who advised: “So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong and to strike what is weak.”
