Sanford Health will ask the Board of Historic Preservation on Wednesday for permission to tear down a 19th century house near its main medical campus in central Sioux Falls.

It’s an unusual requirement because the house at 628 W. 20th St. is currently listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.

Sanford said in a written statement to Sioux Falls Live on Friday that the health system hasn’t made a final decision on the final fate of the property.
