A Belle Fourche lawyer will fill a vacancy in the South Dakota Judiciary, serving as a circuit court judge in the Fourth Circuit.

Gov. Larry Rhoden appointed Kellen Willert to the bench this week. Willert will replace former Judge John Fitzgerald, who left the bench earlier this year in an unsuccessful effort to win the GOP nomination for attorney general.
