Polaris Industries is denying allegations that a defective ATV caused an accident that left a Sioux Falls man with permanent injuries.

Devin Nelson rented the ATV from ABPetersen Rentals in Lead on Aug. 20, 2021. According to a lawsuit he filed in federal court, he was on a trip in the Black Hills with his girlfriend and family. They were using the ATV on recreation trails.

The lawsuit says Nelson took his foot off of the throttle pedal, but the ATV didn’t slow down, causing it to flip.
