Noem-led DHS to 'reorient' emergency arm
President Donald Trump has criticized FEMA, saying it is inefficient and mired in bureaucracy

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem told Congress that the Trump administration plans to “reorient” the Federal Emergency Management Agency, not eliminate it.
Noem delivered her remarks in written testimony to the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security in Washington, D.C. this month. She said the administration wants to change how FEMA operates and give states and local governments more control.
