Noem again asks Biden administration for permission to host fireworks show at Mount Rushmore
Annual request has been denied each year since Trump left the White House
Gov. Kristi Noem isn’t giving up hopes of throwing another Independence Day fireworks show at Mount Rushmore.
The South Dakota Department of Tourism Wednesday applied for a federal permit through the National Parks Service seeking permission to stage a pyrotechnic display at the national monument in the Black Hills in 2024.
“There is truly no better place to celebrate America’s birthday than Mount Rushmore,” the Republican governor said while announcing the filing of the application in a news release.
