Investigation focuses on whether merger would decrease competition, violate laws on charities and nonprofits

The Minnesota Attorney General’s Office is reviewing the proposed merger between Sioux Falls-based Sanford Health and Minneapolis-based Fairview Health Services.

The news of an investigation into the merger comes one day after the two entities announced their proposed merger, which was first reported by The Dakota Scout on Nov. 7.
