As long as I can remember, South Dakota has always claimed pride in being a Pro-Life state. I remember when Sen. John Thune, many years ago, ran for office, it was a concept he stood for with the Catholic community. More recently, Marty Jackley and Gov. Larry Rhoden have been heard on TV claiming that South Dakota is one of the most pro-life states in the union.
I, myself, take a pro-life stance because as an unwanted pregnancy in 1951 my existence depended on it.
