Keep the lights on: Scouting Lounge goes live after GOP debate between governor candidates
WATCH AT 9:30: Live special post-debate show to be video-streamed from Washington Pavilion with candidates, staff and politicos invited to join
Moderators for this week’s Republican gubernatorial debate will stay on stage after the final question — turning the event into a live, post-debate broadcast aimed at capturing the immediate reaction from candidates, campaigns and the state’s political class.
The special edition of The Scouting Lounge will be hosted by Jonathan Ellis of The Dakota Scout and Patrick Lalley of Sioux Falls Live, following their roles as moderators of the debate.
The live show will originate from the Belbas Theater inside the Washington Pavilion and will be streamed at The Dakota Scout’s website, TheDakotaScout.com.
Organizers say the post-debate format is designed to extend the conversation beyond the stage, offering real-time analysis and reaction as the final GOP primary debate concludes.
Candidates, campaign staff, political allies and other observers in attendance are expected to filter through the theater following the debate, with the potential for impromptu interviews and unscheduled appearances.
The program will mirror the tone of The Scouting Lounge, a recurring political talk show produced by The Dakota Scout, but with a live audience and immediate access to the night’s participants.
The evenings sponsors are POET, MarketBeat, Houwman Insurance, the South Dakota Corn Growers Association, the South Dakota Soybean Association and Americans for Prosperity.
