Hughes County prosecutor headed to Attorney General’s Office
LaMie joining Jackley’s Consumer Protection Division
Hughes County is losing its state’s attorney to the South Dakota Attorney General’s Office.
Jessica LaMie, the top prosecutor in the state Capitol county since late 2020, has resigned from her post to take a position working under Attorney General Marty Jackley.
She will be an assistant attorney general for the office’s Consumer Protection Division.
“I have been honored to work on several different issues in the State’s Attorney’s Office, and one of my priorities has always been about helping people,” LaMie said in a statement provided to The Dakota Scout. “I look forward to putting that experience to good use with Consumer Protection and continuing to help people all across the state.”
