Gov. Kristi Noem didn’t back down Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

Neither did her interviewer, Margaret Brennan.

Noem defended her upcoming book, “No Going Back,” during a contentious interview in which she defended episodes depicted in the book. Brennan pressed Noem on her decision to shoot her dog, as well as claiming that she met North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un when she had not.

The interview came less than 12 hours after the South Dakota governor was lampooned by NBC’s Saturday Night Live. Following a commercial break, Brennan went to her next guest, U.S. Sen. John Fetterman. Brennan asked the Pennsylvania Democrat why he was chuckling.

“That interview was magnificent,” Fetterman responded.
