The Dakota Scout, South Dakota State University’s student newspaper and a staple of the state’s financial industry are teaming up to keep the Fourth Estate strong.
And the trio’s newly announced content-sharing agreement also gives college-level journalists in Brookings a path to professional newsrooms.
The Sioux Falls-based newspaper on Thursday announced its partnership with Collegian Media at SDSU and First Bank & Trust. The agreement will allow student journalists to have their work published in The Scout’s weekly print edition and establish a pathway to summer internships with the newspaper, thanks to the Fishback family, which founded First Bank & Trust.
