The South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources is cautioning the public on visiting their favorite lakes in the state, including four East River lakes – but none will be closed to visitors, including a popular swimming and boating venue near Sioux Falls.

DANR issued a notice on Aug. 27 asking the public to be careful when recreating on lakes in South Dakota due to the potential for harmful algae blooms to develop rapidly.
