Federal funding reductions have forced Lincoln County to add $21,000 to its emergency management budget, part of nearly $7 million in supplements unanimously approved by county commissioners Tuesday.

Emergency Management Director Harold Timmerman told commissioners the state cut Lincoln County's reimbursement from 50 percent of his salary to just 35 percent, creating an immediate budget shortfall.

“When we planned our 2025 budget, we were told to cut 10 percent, which we did,” Timmerman said. “Now we're getting told that the state is getting cut from the federal dollars in 2025.”
