Service deteriorating to the point where business and commerce are suffering
The chairman of the U.S. House committee with oversight authority over the Postal Service vowed to come to South Dakota Friday during a roundtable hosted by Rep. Dusty Johnson.
Congressman Pete Sessions appeared at the Sioux Falls roundtable via video. The Texas Republican represents a district similar to South Dakota, with ag producers and rural areas, and he said his district and South Dakota deserve better Postal service.
Johnson said he called the roundtable after he tried to work with the Postal Service to understand why service had deteriorated so quickly in the state. Postal leadership rebuffed his requests to tour their facilities in the state.
