Attorney General-Elect Marty Jackley has his pick to lead South Dakota’s top detective agency.
The Attorney General’s Office Monday announced the hiring of Dan Satterlee as director of the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation.
Satterlee assumes the role following a stint as coordinator for the South Dakota Fusion Center, the law enforcement agency that handles criminal intelligence to support terrorism prevention and criminal activity investigations.
“Dan Satterlee’s diverse experience in law enforcement, corrections, and the military has prepared him to lead the DCI as our new director,” said Jackley, who will return as attorney general in January after running unopposed for the post in the general election. “The DCI has a rich history of earning the public’s trust by working directly with local law enforcement across our state to solve crime and to keep our communities safe, and we are committed to building upon this earned reputation.”
