Congressional primary likely for South Dakota Dems
Former USDA Rural Development director becomes party’s third to enter U.S. House race
South Dakota Democrats may be headed for a contested primary in 2026 as two Sioux Falls-area candidates launched campaigns for the state’s lone U.S. House seat.
Nikki Gronli, a 52-year-old Dell Rapids small business owner and former USDA Rural Development director, announced Monday she is entering the race. Gronli said she plans to formally launch her campaign Sept. 10 in Sioux Falls.
