Mayor Paul TenHaken’s administration is pushing to add an employee to the city of Sioux Falls’ payroll to manage an inventory of public-owned art valued at more than $3 million.
The Sioux Falls Planning and Development Services Department last month formally laid out its budget requests to city councilors, including funding for a full-time arts coordinator to oversee 58 sculpture pieces and other art pieces owned by the city. The position, if granted, would also facilitate partnerships with non-city related arts organizations.
