A former equestrian coach for South Dakota State University who was accused of using school resources for personal gain has sued the South Dakota Board of Regents.
Kamerra Brown argues that she was fired from the school because of her race. At the time of her hiring as SDSU’s coach, Brown was the first African American to be the head coach of a collegiate equestrian program in history, and she was the first black head coach of any sport at SDSU, according to her lawsuit.
