Nearly a million gallons of Aberdeen water have been trucked to Ellendale, North Dakota since June 9.
That water is being used for what’s called a flush and fill at Applied Digital‘s hyperscale data center, parts of which are still under construction just north of the border. The flush-and-fill process runs treated water through the data center cooling system to remove any construction debris and check for leaks before coolant is added.
Aberdeen City Finance Officer Jordan McQuillen said the purchaser of the water is Roughrider Transportation Inc. out of Mandan North Dakota for use at Applied Digital in Ellendale.
