Austin Sprinkel has been going on waterfowl hunts sine he was a youth. He’s started a business called NexGen Watertowl. Courtesy photo.

In a house near the banks of Richmond Lake, 19-year-old Austin Sprinkel is surrounded by racks of hoodies, hats and T-shirts that are all part of his growing brand, NexGen Waterfowl.

It’s an endeavor he started working on in high school.

“I chose the unconventional path of going straight into working,” Sprinkel said. “I’m not really the type who believes in backup plans. If you do, it’s like you’re not believing in your original plan 100 percent.”
