NOTICE OF HEARING Notice is hereby given that at the regular Sioux Falls City Council meeting to be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Carnegie Town Hall, 235 W. 10th St., a public hearing will be held to hear objections to proposed amendments to City Ordinance Chapter 37: Taxation.
The assessment for properties within the Downtown Sioux Falls Business Improvement District boundary is determined based on §§ 37.110 and 37.112 of the Code of Ordinances of Sioux Falls, SD, and the property valuation set by the Minnehaha County Office of Equalization. Funds are to be expended for the betterment of the district in accordance with SDCL 9-55-3 and § 37.109 of the Code of Ordinances of Sioux Falls, SD.
The proposed amendments will remove the business improvement district assessment exemption for industrial property and remove the reduced business improvement district assessment for multifamily property whose sole use is residential for properties within the Downtown Sioux Falls Business Improvement District boundary. The proposed amendments would be effective for the 2027 business improvement district assessment year.
The business improvement district has the following boundaries and contains all properties therein:
