Yankton treatment center for women with substance use disorder set to open

Avera, Lewis and Clark Behavioral, team up with state to offer services for women, including pregnant women

A new residential treatment center for women dealing with substance use disorders is scheduled to open Monday in Yankton following a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday.

Park Haven Learning and Recovery Center is an 18-bed facility designed to serve women, including pregnant women and mothers with dependent children. The center is located at Summit and West Fifth streets near Westside Park, across from Avera Sacred Heart Hospital.

The facility is the result of a private-public partnership. Avera Sacred Heart Hospital constructed and owns the building and is partnering with Lewis and Clark Behavioral Health Services to provide programs and services.
