Lincoln County officials expressed uncertainty Tuesday about how a new state law will affect local property assessments, emphasizing that several aspects remain unclear until implementation begins.

County Director of Equalization Karla Goossen told commissioners during her department presentation that some media reports have misrepresented Senate Bill 216, which creates a cap on property value increases.

Counties could raise sales tax for property tax relief under Gov. Rhoden's plan
