After decades of electrifying performances, chart-topping hits, and unforgettable moments, the iconic rock band Journey is saying goodbye the only way they know how – with a thunderous, full-throttle farewell tour that will soon be taking stage in Sioux Falls.

An egg-citing Easter celebration awaits at the Great Plains Zoo’s annual Egg-stravaganza. Participants can look forward to a day filled with egg hunts, egg-themed facts and fun, animals, story times, photo ops and endless fun for the whole family.

Coming off the heels of a 5–0 shutout at the hands of the Oilers, the Rapid City rush will have two more opportunities for redemption in a double-header this weekend.

The Dinner Detective presents “A Noteworthy Crime,” complete with plainclothes actors hidden amongst the crowd, audience participation, and a four-course dinner.

If you’ve never tried singing and bingo before, then don’t pass up the chance to warm up your pipes this weekend on the south side of Rapid City. Grab a drink and sing as you play the night away.

Daschle Dialogues returns to SDSU with featured guest Jon Meacham, presidential historian and Pulitzer Prize-winning author. All ticket proceeds for the event will support scholarships for SDSU students.

Friday, April 3 • 10–11 a.m.Edith B. Siegrist Public Library, Vermilion

Celebrate the birthday of legendary primatologist and conservationist Jane Goodall with a thoughtful discussion about her life, work and lasting impact on how we understand and protect the natural world. Participants will also see photos and hear a firsthand account of visiting Gombe National Park in Tanzania where Goodall began her research.

Thursday, April 9 • 5:30–9 p.m.Arena, Sioux Falls

This year, McCrossan Boy’s Ranch is turning up the heat – bringing the tropics straight to Sioux Falls. Banquet-goers will be treated to a Jimmy Buffet tribute, Polynesian paradise dancers, fire poi dance, photo ops, and tropical meal complete with island-inspired drinks. All proceeds go to support programs for at-risk youth at McCrossan Boys Ranch.

Calling all rock’n’roll fans: you won’t want to miss an evening of electricity and music hosted by second generation Rockabilly Hall of Fame rocker Robby Vee. Robby is known for combining elements of his vast repertoire, telling stories that bridge the generation gap from “the roots of rock’n’roll to the new sounds of americana music of today.”

Join fellow creatives this coming Monday at AMC Collective. Guests can choose from a variety of available projects or enjoy a creative free time option – $15 for one hour of access to studio supplies to create freely. This outing is ideal for kids and families looking for a fun, low-stress activity the day after Easter.

Come learn to make tender, pillowy ricotta gnocchi by hand, then turn it into a comforting entrée under Chef April Johnson’s guidance. This cozy, hands-on cooking experience is perfect for anyone who loves fresh pasta and indulgent desserts. Spots are $110 per person.

Friday, April 10 • 7:30 p.m.Orpheum Theater Center, Sioux Falls

Experience a night of collaboration, creativity and community at the Orpheum Theater. This one-of-a-kind performance features live original music by Fine Mess, paired with choreographed dance from Move to Heal –bringing movement and meaning together on stage. The evening also includes interactive visual art by South Dakota artist Amy Fill and guest appearances that will surprise.

Saturday, April 4 • NoonWoodland Republic Blending & Brewing, Rapid City

Come to an Easter egg hunt like no other, strictly for the 21+ crowd. Participants will have 30 minutes to search for eggs filled with prizes, including a grand prize Easter basket packed with specialty beers and other surprises. After the hunt, there will be yard games, live music and a food truck to keep the good times rolling. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

It’s the 21st anniversary of the EastBank Art Gallery, and in order to celebrate, organizers are holding a reception that will exhibit works from former members and exhibitors. All artwork is for sale, and refreshments will be provided.

Saturday, April 4 • 6:05 p.m.Denny Sanford Premier Center, Sioux Falls

Though this Saturday marks the end of the season for the Sioux Falls Stampede, they’re going out with a bang as they celebrate their success and their youngest fans. This game will feature kid-centric activities while ticket proceeds support the Girls on the Run program. Raffle tickets for a Frostbite jersey will benefit Make-A-Wish South Dakota.
