Augustana Books & More Sale

Join Augie’s library associates for this year’s Books and More Sale. The sale will be in the Fantle Building/Center for Western Studies, adjacent to the Mikkelsen Library. Paperbacks will be 50 cents and hardcovers will be $1. Other fun items will be available for purchase. All proceeds will support the Augustana Library Associates programs.
The Premiere Playhouse presents: Hairspray

Orpheum Theater Center, Sioux Falls
You can’t stop the beat in this Tony-winning musical that’s as iconic as it is inspiring. Follow Tracy Turnblad as she dances her way onto The Corny Collins Show and into the heart of a civil rights movement. ASL interpreters will be available for one performance of the show.
250th Community Mural Painting Party
Saturday, April 18 • 9 a.m.–12 p.m.
Fifth Street Gym, Brookings
Brookings residents are invited to help commemorate America’s 250th birthday by creating a patriots’ flag mosaic mural, made with over 950 hand-painted tiles. There is no cost to paint and participants can come and go at any time during the session.
Mount Pleasant Cemetery Board Meeting
Saturday, April 18 • 10 a.m.
Emmanuel Baptist Church, Sioux Falls
Interested residents are encouraged to attend and learn more about recent developments at the historic cemetery. Entrance to the meeting is through the lower level double-doors of the church.
Bailey Zimmerman: Different Night Same Rodeo Tour 2026

Breakout country music star Bailey Zimmerman is hitting the road for his 2026 headlining run. The tour will bring the powerhouse vocalists’ signature blend of country grit and rock energy to Sioux Falls. Joining Bailey Zimmerman on the tour are special guests Hudson Westbrook and Blake Whiten.
Come Fly With Me - Frank Sinatra Tribute

A night of nostalgia, elegance and celebration of the timeless music of Frank Sinatra awaits at the Reliabank Theater. Performers include Tony Deblois, Alex Massa and the South Dakota Jazz Orchestra.

Dakota Territory Gun Show

Buy, sell, browse or trade for brand new or classic shotguns, rifles, handguns, ammo, and gear from seasoned vendors. Both modern and collectible firearms will be available, and dealers will be on hand to answer questions about your firearms. Admission is $10 per person, payable at the door.
BANFF Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour
April 20–21
Elks Theatre, Rapid City
The Rapid City Arts Council presents the BANFF Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour, returning to the Elks Theatre for two nights of adventure. Monday’s Moraine program kicks off with a dynamic lineup of six films, highlighting stories about athletes and explorers pushing the limits of human potential. The following night’s Icefall program features six films that blend adventure, culture and storytelling. Tickets are $40 for one night or $75 for both nights.
Live On Stage Sioux Falls presents: The Bronx Wanderers

The Bronx Wanderers are a high-energy musical group that have been entertaining audiences of all ages since 2003. Spanning across six decades of pop and rock classics like “Don’t Worry Baby,” “Runaround Sue,” and “Bohemian Rhapsody,” and featuring personal stories about music industry legends like Tony Orlando, Wayne Newton, Billy Joel, and more, this show appeals to casual music enjoyers and aficionados alike.
Sioux Falls Mayoral Candidate Forum

Hamre Recital Hall, Sioux Falls
Augustana University will host a mayoral candidate forum moderated by AU President Stephanie Herseth Sandlin. A candidate meet-and-greet will follow the forum. Questions for the candidates may be submitted in writing at the event, or emailed in advance to siouxfallslwv@gmail.com. It is free and open to the public.
Nate Bargatze: Big Dumb Eyes World Tour
Wednesday, April 22 • 7 p.m.

Critically acclaimed comedian Nate Bargatze is returning to Sioux Falls with his signature clean and relatable comedy. Dubbed “the nicest man in stand-up,” Bargatze’s accolades include hosting SNL twice in one year, scoring two Netflix specials, and appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon 13 times.
