Who does the Lake County Commission represent?
With stunning disregard for their constituents, the Lake County Commission rejected a petition signed by 492 county voters for an ordinance regulating the siting of carbon dioxide pipelines. After three years of the commission ignoring calls by county residents to consider an ordinance like those in other South Dakota counties, such as Moody, Spink, Minnehaha and Lincoln, a group of us circulated a petition to bring an ordinance to the vote of the people.
